Senate Bill 1670 Filed: Medically Complex Children

Senate Proposed Committee Bill 7076 passed by unanimous vote in the Children, Families and Elder Affairs Committee. The bill would provide services for medically complex children in their home, a relative's home or medical foster home and requires placement be made in the least restrictive, most nurturing environment. In addition, the bill defines "medical neglect" and specifies requirements for the investigation of medical neglect. The bill also requires the Department of Children and Families to work with the Department of Health and the Agency for Health Care Administration to provide care for medically complex children. The bill has now been filed as Senate Bill 1670.
