At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to: Review the concept of provider-based clinics and the economic advantage; Delineate the various requirements under the Provider-Based Rule (42 CFR §413.65); Discuss the basic operational processes for provider-based clinics; Understand differing requirements for in-hospital, on-campus and off-campus clinics; Review the supervisory requirements for provider-based services; Appreciate the subtle changes being made by CMS relative to supervisory requirements for hospital-based clinics; Understand the concept of incident-to for both physicians and hospitals; Discuss the difference between 'clarifying' guidance and 'changed' guidance; Discuss possible RAC audit issues for retroactive application; and Work through several case studies.
