FSHES Criteria for Membership
MEMBERSHIP
1. The membership of the Society shall consist of members, associates, and non-affiliates. Membership categories are defined below:
Members
Members are employees of FHA member institutions and their corporate offices, state
educational institutions, and government (except non-member government hospitals, and
hospital associations who are actively involved in the healthcare institutional
environmental services function at the administrative level. Members may be elected to
office or board positions with no restrictions.
Publications: Hospitaletter, Meetinguide, plus choice of two additional newsletters at no additional charge.
Associates
Associates are individuals who are actively involved and interested in the healthcare
institutional environmental services function at the administrative level who are not Non-Affiliate members. Associates may be elected to office or board positions limited to two
positions per term.

Personal members who belong to FHA affiliated organizations are also governed by membership policies as stated in the bylaws of those organizations.
2 Application for membership must be submitted on an approved form.
3. Members shall have voting privileges and may hold office, with the exception of Non-affiliate members.
4. Members in the Society may be terminated by the Board of Directors of the Society for failure to comply with any of the provisions of the by-laws or code of standards of the society and/or the association regulations of the Florida Hospital Association.
5. Membership of any person who is no longer eligible for membership in the Florida Society shall be automatically terminated with a pro-rated refund.
