IP Hot Topic: IP Practices to Prevent CLABSI

FHA Infection Prevention Hot Topic: IP Practices to Prevent CLABSI
Thursday, May 16, 2024
3:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. ET

Overview

CLABSI is one of the most common types of HAIs and if not prevented or managed appropriately, can easily lead to sepsis.  Florida continues to strive in meeting the 2020 HHS SIR Goal for central line-associated blood stream infections (CLABSI).  Adopting best practices for reducing and eliminating CLABSIs in the healthcare setting require a strong safety culture and leadership support that ensures clinicians have the resources and training they need to be competent when caring for patients with central lines.

This webinar will be led by nationally recognized infection prevention expert, Linda Greene, RN, MPS, CIC, FAPIC.   She will be sharing information and infection prevention practices and strategies that will reduce CLABSIs in hospitalized patients.

Please join FHA for this important educational program where current updates on guidelines and strategies for preventing CLABSI will be shared. This virtual event is part of the FHA Infection Prevention webinar series that provides hospital infection preventionists and team members with the latest information, evidence-based practice, and resources for eliminating hospital-acquired infections (HAI).

Objectives

  1. Understand the challenges of preventing CLABSI in the healthcare setting
  2. Know current guidelines and recommendations for prevention of CLABSI
  3. Discuss "best practices" and strategies for implementation to reduce risk of CLABSI
