Florida's hospitals are vital community resources that employ hundreds of thousands of professionals, invest in local goods and services, and train the next generation of caregivers. Hospitals are responsible for creating more than 900,000 jobs across the state and generate $74 billion in total economic impact statewide each year.
Hospitals are also responding to critical needs in the community that go far beyond direct patient care. In 2019, Florida's hospitals contributed a total of $4.9 billion in total benefit to local communities through health services for low income individuals, education and resources to improve population health status.
The Florida Hospital Association provides a unified voice for Florida's hospital community, advocating on behalf of its members to maintain and improve access to affordable, quality health care for all Floridians.
On both a state and federal level, FHA is committed to educating and collaborating with decision makers to help shape critical policy issues that impact patients and communities statewide.
