FHA Call: Discussion on CMS FY2025 Proposed Changes to
IPPS Quality Programs and RFIs

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the proposed Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS) proposed rule for FY 2025 on April 10, 2024, which includes some significant changes and new measures for the Inpatient Quality Reporting program and to the Conditions of Participation.  These include:

• Patient Safety Structural Measure
• Age Friendly Structural Measure
• Changes to HCAHPS Survey
• Modifying the Conditions of Participation to require weekly reporting of respiratory virus cases
• Request for Information on Incorporating Measures of Interest to Patients such as Unplanned ED Visits after Discharge
• Request for Information on Improving Maternal Health Outcomes

FHA is hosting a call on Tuesday, May 21 at 2:00 p.m (ET) to review the proposal and to get feedback from member hospitals on these proposals to shape our comment letter. Comments are due June 10.
